Drs. Foster and Smith is a catalog order pet supply company and has done business since 1983. They are somewhat well-respected among animal owners. Recently, they have decided to ally themselves with the anti-animal ownership organization, Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and to sell the information of catalog recipients to the anti-animal ownership organization. The statement of Drs. Foster and Smith follows.

We appreciate your past loyalty and we would never intentionally do anything that would betray that trust. As is common in the catalog industry we share names with companies, and we have shared a small number of names with the HSUS. We do understand your concern and appreciate your opinion. We will reconsider our position regarding the HSUS going forward.
