I found an old newspaper clipping of me during my final arrest with PeTA twenty-four years and one day ago. Yikes! I was naive when I was young and I thought PeTA represented animals and animal welfare. I had no idea that they were just anti-social crazy people who hated all things related to civilization, like a huge foundation of civilization for 100,000 of domestic animals. PeTA liked having me because I was attractive and my pleasantness could help them get a better deal in court.
Why is it some people are so insistent on labelling people? I spoke to a person who adamantly insisted that a person was a "hoarder." She became very angry at the thought that the term, "hoarder," was an epithet. She then defended her use of this epithet and became angry that I was offended, since the term, "hoarder," is being used by animal rights organizations to attack animal owners. I do not understand why anyone would want to a defend such an angry, anti-social term as, "hoarder."
Something is getting a bit pernicious and insidious, so we can and we should nip it in the bud, NOW.
The term "Animal Advocacy" is cropping up in many discussions. Gone are the qualifiers of "Rights" and "Welfare."
Animal Advocates who support animal ownership, animal enterprise, and other animal use must jealously guard the terms that define us and not let animal rights strip away our rights to own and advocate for animals.
Below is an official plan of action released this evening by the president of ARBA- Mike Avesing. He has sent out the following information (see below) and has urged every single member of ARBA to take action immediately to oppose SB 917.
I think about Breed-Specific Legislation (BSL) quite often, since it is a means to end all dogs and not just one breed of dogs. BSL typically targets breeds of dogs that have a history of being bred for dog fighting and are often referred to as, "pit bulls."
